FAQ's

Will my school district accept these credits for salary advancement?
Our Summer Institute has been offering credit through approved universities since 1987 in various states. We encourage you to check with your district. If they have any questions, we recommend that you inform your district that PLU and UOP are the universities that grant these credits, are accepted nationwide. Our multi-topic key note speakers address today's standards, plus there are single subject breakout sessions, PLC’s and wellness education components. If you have any problems, please contact us.

What type of credit does this program offer?
Nationally accreditted three to four semester credits are offered with Extension Credit through Pacific Lutheran University (Washington, Oregon, Ohio and Michigan Sites) and the University of Pacific (California Sites).  The courses are approved for K-12.  These are repeatable special topics course.  You can earn multiple credits by attending more than on workshop. 

Can I take multiple Summer Institute Courses and receive multiple credits?
Yes.  Each workshop has separate speakers, curriculum and course titles.

What are the requirements for a passing grade?
Outside classroom assignment. Using ideas from the class curriculum, you will develop and organize a report on a particular class of your choice.  This project is not stressful and is designed to be an enjoyable experience for you!  (For examples, click "Tools & Resource Library").  (Example: Develop “No Child Left Behind” or other lesson plans, integrated wellness curriculum, safe school plan, classroom strategies, power point presentations, etc.) This must be typed.  For an "A" or "B" grade, please refer to the course syllabus.

How do I get my transcripts?

How do I get my clock hours?
Clock Hour forms will be collected on the last day of the program along with the daily documentation form required for clock hour attendance. 

What if I have to miss a session or a day?
With prior approval, there are make up days available.  Please refer to the course syllabus in each individual workshop site page.

How should I dress for the Workshop?
Dress casually and relaxed, and tennis shoes are recommended for wellness activities.
