Summer Institute Travel Credit Length of trip/Credit Requirement Guidelines

Please refer to the chart below for the number of credits that are available depending on the length of your trip. These are the maximum number of credits. On extended trips (trips exceeding seven (7) days), fewer credits than those indicated for extended trips may be taken for the travel if the student so desires. Example: A ten-day trip but the participant only wants three credits.

The participant will determine all credits. All accompanying work (pre-travel planning log, travel journal and post travel lesson plan) for the credits will be evaluated by the Summer Institute staff.

It will be the discretion of the Summer Institute staff to award the appropriate credit as determined by the quality and thoroughness of the required work. Participants will be notified should their work not meet the requirements for the credits that they applied.
