NABC Professional Development Series

The PDS is a comprehensive, on-going continuing education program for basketball coaches of all levels. The focus of the program will be to develop well-rounded basketball coaches on a professional (on & off the court) and on a personal level. The intent will be to create opportunities for interacting with colleagues and exchanging ideas in an atmosphere conducive to professional growth.

A. HOW TO EARN GRADUATE LEVEL COLLEGE CREDIT:

  1. To earn one semester hour of university graduate level credit a coach will complete 14 hours worth of clinics choosing from the NABC Professional Development Series and Coaching Develop hours, plus 1 hour at the Etics Clinic. Please follow the procedures indicated on the linked sites below. This credit will be earned through Pacific Lutheran University for $130 per credit hour for NABC members.

  3.  Convention participants: Please download the above regisration form, fill it out and send to Scott Ricardo, 223 Blue Ridge Rd., Port Townsend, WA 98368

  4. Coaches at other clinics: You can earn multiple credits at various clinics and or camps. Please call Scott Ricardo (209) 648-4054 if you have any questions.

PDS clinics are broken down into 3 categories: Coaching Development, Personal Development, and Ethics. In order to become NABC PDS-certified, coaches must attend two (2) coaching development clinics, two (2) personal development clinics, and one (1) ethics seminar during the NABC Convention weekend.
