Joe received his BS Degree from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois and is now a professional engineer and LEED Accredited Professional with the US Coast Guard.

Joe’s passion for education has evolved over time, having been surrounded by educators like his father, aunts, uncles and then marrying an educator. He has a great respect and admiration for teachers and how they are producing the future leaders of America. He has seen and lived through the process of earning and maintaining your teaching certificate after numerous moves with the military.

After seeing the positive impacts his father, Dick Comar, had made coordinating SI for educators in Michigan, Joe made a commitment to initiate an SI in Strongsville, Ohio where teachers can have a week of low stress and fun filled learning at low cost while earning their CEU’s and Master’s credits. Joe resides in Strongsville, OH with wife Kathryn and three daughters

Kathryn Comar,
Site Coordinator	Kathryn Comar has been in the education field for over 10 years. She earned her BS from Western Michigan University in the areas of Special Education, Elementary Education and Home Economics and earned an MA in Reading Education from Bowling Green State University. Kathryn’s teaching background is diverse and wide-ranging. It began in Prides Crossing, Massachusetts at the Landmark School, a boarding and day school for students with language based learning disabilities. She then became an elementary reading consultant for Okemos Public Schools in Michigan, a special education teacher in North Carolina where she taught at both at both inner-city and rural schools and was a reading and writing instructor at the College of the Albermarle, NC. Most recently Kathyrn was an intervention specialist at St. Joseph Academy in Cleveland, OH. She resides in Strongsville, OH with husband Joe and three daughters.
