Optimal Health in 2010
Executive Director Health Coach Team
Our break out session deals with how food affects our health. Particularly, how blood sugar levels and the insulin response can be either our best friend, or our worst enemy! Learn how Type 2 diabetes is a reversible disease, and how many of today's health issues stem directly from obesity.
It wasn't until I found out that my cholesterol was 259 and the BMI chart said I was "overweight" that I decided I'd better do something about my health! Fast forward several years, and I am a health coach now- helping others lose weight and shed medications. Two thirds of America is overweight or obese and find themselves in the same situation I was in just a few years ago. Ten percent of America is suffering from type 2 diabetes. As a health coach, I place emphasis on relationships with my clients by providing personal attention to their health. My mission is to get America healthy, one person at a time!

Your Competitive Edge: Education Initiatives = Revitalized Teachers
John Fitzgerald Kennedy once said that "efforts and courage were not enough without purpose and direction. "
Education Initiatives = a revitalization of teachers passions and purposes regardless of experience, seniority, and expertise. This course is most appropriate for educators, administrators, guidance counselors, and mental health counselors. Educators who have been in the field for more than five years have been introduced to Inclusion, Differentiated Instruction, Response to Intervention, Evidence Based Practice, to name a few. Each initiative brings with it a shift in paradigm, beliefs, talents, and expectations. This often produces a sense of complacency that inhibits student’s complete learning experience?
Peter Scott brings to his clients over two decades of experience in the field of professional and personal development.
From the streets of Boston to the top of his field, Peter brings his powerful and inspiring life lessons to you. Passionate and articulate, Peter has educated and inspired audiences all over the world. He is committed to living a life defined by personal accountability and he strives for excellence each day. His services include a variety of consulting programs, dynamic personal and professional growth seminars and workshops.
Peter Scott motivates others to "step up" by overcoming their limitations and tapping into their personal and professional power. His highly interactive seminars and keynote presentations are content driven and are extremely motivational. Peter designs each program to meet the unique challenges of his clients and when appropriate, Peter often includes magic and additional interactive learning tools in order to maximize participants' long-term retention. More than telling people what to do or showing them how to do it, Peter actually involves participants in the learning process. The results speak for themselves. Improved performance, which increases bottom-line productivity, is what separates Peter's programs from the pack. Those who participate in this experiential workshop will be offered several opportunities to rediscover and when deemed important re-calibrate their levels of integrity, ethics, sense of purpose, values, depth of empathy, strengths…
Peter's workshops are very intense! They are highly experiential and completely solution driven.
“This is a rare opportunity for any individual, but especially an educator, to re-ignite a sense of purpose.” Brett Acebo – Mt. Mansfield High School

Tying Together Curriculum and Technology
Being engaged in the classroom is one of the keys to deep learning. Come spend some time to focus on how and why we use technology to enhance delivery and assessment of curriculum. The session will discuss the paradigm shift teachers and districts are making when choosing technology tools to assist in the delivery of content and will also explore how Mobi's and eInstruction Classroom Response Systems can be used to help with classroom management and delivery of curriculum. See examples of how using these tools can help teachers to actively engage all students in classrooms with ever increasing numbers, check student understanding throughout a lesson, provide on-going real-time feedback during lessons, differentiate instruction based on student understanding, and efficiently assess and record student knowledge. See examples of how teachers can use these tools to make learning visible and take learning to a deeper level using quality questioning strategies during instruction.
Dottie Coven - Dottie has a Masters in Teaching and taught elementary school for 13 years. Dottie has worked as a consultant and technology trainer since 1992 and joined CIM Technology Solutions Group as they expanded into the Western Region in 2007.
