PURE Teaching VI (Powerfully Using Relationships Effectively)
This is the 6th installment of P.U.R.E. Teaching. This year’s seminar will focus on relationships with students and colleagues and how to interact in ways that increase mutual understanding, promote cooperation, and decrease conflict. We will also discuss lessons on motivation, choice making and goal setting. These lessons are currently being taught by Mr. Chapin to educators in seminars across the United States through Bureau of Education & Research, Rachel’s Challenge, and through Mr. Chapin’s business, Positive Powerful Teaching. He is also teaching these lessons to students of all grades at various school districts and the Juvenile Justice Center.
This year’s presentation will include the following:
- Basic attitude and behavior lessons for elementary school students.
- Classroom proven strategies for increasing academic performance and establishing mutual respect between you and your students.
- Highly effective methods for improving students’ attitudes about school, life, and learning.
- Practical methods to empower students to accept personal responsibility for what happens to them in school and in life.
- Student friendly ideas that prevent power struggles, apathy, and classroom disruptions.
- Where to find energy in teaching and how to plug the holes that drain that energy.
- Goal setting and problem solving for both the teacher and the student.
We will cover these and many other topics as well as receiving a packet containing some of these lessons and other useful information.
